Biography

Ariane Sophie Marion-Jetten is a postdoctoral researcher at Universität Hamburg. She is interested implicit and explicit motives congruence and its impact on goal pursuit and well-being. Her research also focuses on mindfulness, self-regulation and goal pursuit.

Ariane Sophie completed her doctorate in 2022 at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Her thesis examined how mindfulness impacts goal pursuit, from goal selection to accomplishment or disengagement, with a focus on action crises. She received her bachelor’s honours degree from McGill University in 2016. Her first undergraduate thesis focused on autonomy support and motivation, as defined by Self-Determination Theory, for eating disorders’ treatment. Her second thesis pertained to the influence of goal motivation on action crises.
